Court TV and Cable In The Classroom, along with esteemed organizations including the United Nations Department of Public Information, the Anti-Defamation League, Operation Respect, Survivors of the Shoah Visual History and the We Are Family Foundation, join forces in celebration of the “International Day of Tolerance” through a live webcast to be held at The United Nations in New York.

On November 17 at 1:00 PM ET, Al Roker will host “We Are Family: Educating Our Children For A Safer World,” an event that will inspire and educate the world’s youth on the importance of unity and diversity. This unprecedented live webcast of song and motivation will be available to over 190 countries through the support of the partner organizations and through www.courttv.com/SaferWorld and www.wearefamilyfoundation.org.

On November 10, the “We Are Family: Educating Our Children For A Safer World” Resource Guide will be available to parents, educators and all caring adults to download. Participating organizations have contributed important education lessons and activities for students that address the issue of diversity. With the support of the nation’s leading education associations, these resources, addressing Pre-K, elementary, middle and high school students will be available through the Court TV and We Are Family Foundation websites.

Hosted by NBC’s Al Roker, Mrs. Nane Annan, lawyer, artist and wife of United Nations Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, will open the event that will feature live musical performances by music world legends and luminaries Peter Yarrow of “Peter, Paul and Mary” and songwriter/producer Nile Rodgers of “Chic.” Mattie J. T. Stepanek, a 13 year-old best selling author, poet and peacemaker, will play a special role at the event. His amazing story of living with muscular dystrophy has inspired millions of children and adults worldwide.
