Ermenegildo Zegna and Carson Kressley are family? Well, not exactly. Zegna contributed an auction package worth $3,000 to the We Are Family Foundation charity, coinciding with the recent opening of his new Fifth Avenue store. The package not only included the opportunity for a specialty fitting for a made-to-measure suit by one of Zegna’s renowned tailors, but it also offered the chance for a personal fashion consultation with Carson Kressley.

Kressley was on hand to christen the store, and he didn’t tone it down just because the cameras weren’t around. "So tell me, what is it like being a gardener?" he said upon meeting auction winner and hedge-fund manager, Rob Citrone

With help of Kressley and Ermenegildo Zegna’s Director of Made to Measure, Jarret Kerman, Citrone settled on a luxurious three-button single-breasted chocolate brown pinstriped suit. Mr. Citrone was happy to get all the advice he could and his wife, who tagged along, was happy for the long overdo makeover.

"Green is the new black," Kressley said of his bright ensemble, which included pink cotton pants embroidered with whales, a green Lacoste polo, and matching green flip-flops.

The We Are Family Foundation is a not-for-profit formed in July of 2002 to promote the vision of a global family. The organization was started after the events of September 11, 2001. Legendary songwriter/producer Nile Rogers and Tommy Boy Music president, Tom Silverman, gathered together 200 celebrities on the weekend of September 22, 2001 to re-record the world-renowned song “We Are Family” as a way to start the healing process. The organization strives to create and support programs that inspire and educate people of all ages about diversity, understanding, respect, and multiculturalism.
