We Are Family Foundation and Americans for Informed Democracy co-sponsoring a series of College Town Hall Meetings between students and prominent global culture-makers

Beginning on March 22, We Are Family Foundation and Americans for Informed Democracy co-sponsored a series of College Town Hall meetings between students and prominent global culture-makers focusing on the role of American culture in the world. The series, entitled American Culture in the World: Benevolent Force or Evil Empire?, will include at least 13 events to be held in the US and across the world through the month of May.

Nile Rodgers, founder of the We Are Family Foundation, participated in spirited roundtable discussions at Columbia University, New York University, Yale University, and Lafayette College, where he discussed his responsibility both as an entertainer and as a global citizen.

Among the featured panelist were leading U.S. and foreign journalists, business leaders and media personalities, including: Ashleigh Banfield, MSNBC; Alice Chasan, World Press Review editor; Abderrahim Foukara, Al Jazeera; Ziba Mir-Hosseini, Iranian filmmaker; Danny Schechter, independent filmmaker and cofounder of Globalvision and mediachannel.org; Henry Schleiff, CEO Court TV; Mitchell Stephens, author of A History of News.
